Beyond the report

Implementation Sprints

Recommendations do not change businesses. Implementation does. After the B.O.S.S. Review, we implement the agreed priorities in focused sprints, each with a clearly defined outcome and a fee agreed before work begins.

Why this exists

Why recommendations alone are not enough

Many SME owners have experienced this before: a consultant studies the business, delivers an impressive report, and then leaves. Six months later, nothing has changed, because the hard part was never the analysis. The hard part is changing how a busy team actually works, while the daily business keeps running.

That is why we stay involved. Implementation is where our clients get their return, so it is where we spend most of our time.

How it works

From priorities to action

  1. Agree the sprints. Based on the B.O.S.S. Review roadmap, we agree which priorities to tackle, in what order. Each becomes a sprint with a defined outcome.
  2. Design with your team. Improvements are designed with the people who will run them, not imposed from outside.
  3. Implement and embed. New processes, roles and routines are put into practice, adjusted, and reinforced until they hold.
  4. Review and govern. Regular implementation reviews keep progress honest and solve problems as they surface.
Typical sprints

What Implementation Sprints typically cover

Every programme is shaped by the B.O.S.S. Review findings. Each area below can be one focused sprint, depending on the business:

Process improvement

Redesigned workflows that remove bottlenecks, reduce errors and make work consistent across departments.

Roles & accountability

Clear roles, decision rights and ownership, so managers manage, and issues stop escalating to the founder by default.

KPIs & reporting

A small set of practical measures and simple reporting, so performance is visible without drowning in data.

Management routines

An operating rhythm of meetings, reviews and follow-through that keeps the business improving week after week.

Cross-department coordination

Better handoffs between sales, operations and finance, ending the silo behaviour that quietly costs margin.

AI-enabled workflows

Where suitable, practical use of AI tools to remove manual work and speed up reporting, applied to real processes, not for show.

How sprints are structured

One defined outcome at a time, with fees agreed upfront

Each Implementation Sprint tackles one clearly defined improvement, for example redesigning your HR systems, and typically runs four to six weeks, with a regular working cadence with your team and scheduled progress reviews with the founder and leadership team.

Fees are outcome-based and agreed before each sprint begins. You are not billed by the number of consultant days onsite, so there is no incentive for the work to drag on, and you always know the investment before you commit.

The end goal

A business that runs without constant rescue

The measure of success is not the number of documents produced. It is a business where processes hold, managers take ownership, performance is visible and the founder can step back from daily operations without things slipping.

Along the way, we deliberately transfer capability to your team. The aim is to make ourselves progressively less necessary, not permanently indispensable.
